Which came first the Twitter or the Blog

I'm not sure what prompted me to start this blog. Perhaps I was adding people to my personal Twitter site and came across Darth Vader's Twitter page. Hell, if people want to hear what's going on in the day to day life of the Evil Sith Lord...perhaps they might be interested in the day to day life of a black girl in Hollywood. So I started Tweeting...but as I have a tendacy to get long winded started a blog as well.

A wee bit of history:

I'm very well educated and from New England. My early dreams were of being a lawyer then and ad copywriter. I ended up doing Publicity and Special Events and that brought me from New England to Hollywood where I've worked for all of the major film festivals and a major studio then a TV Network and now I work for both a studio and a Network.

I've done fairly well for myself and I've made close friends with ALL levels of Hollywood. I find myself at the Oscars, Grammy's, Golden Globes, Premieres and fabulous parties...but I'm always the Token Black Woman there. I don't mind - I'm happy to oblige. I am grateful and in no way bitter or a victim - BUT I would be remiss to say that a black woman (as hot and talented as I may be) in my experience only goes so far. When I look around at ALL of the studios and the Networks people of color much less women of color aren't really in positions of leadership or influence. I'm working on changing that. And I will.

But along the way I share my experiences and observations.
